Revised Regulations Effective April 21, 2008

The Maryland State Board of Occupational Therapy is pleased to announce that the Code of Maryland
Regulations (COMAR) 10.46.01 - 10.46.06 have been revised.

The changes to the regulations include:

  1. An opportunity for inactive licensure (a.k.a elective non-renewal);
  2. Clarifies licensure requirements;
  3. Clarifies standards of practice;
  4. Revises supervision requirements including documentation requirements;
  5. Clarifies licensure representation and general conduct;
  6. Defines continuing education contact hour approval processes;
  7. Permits up to eight hours of continuing education to be role-related;
  8. Clarifies continuing education activities and documentation requirements;
  9. Defines competency requirements for physical agent modalities.

In the spirit of economic and environmental conservation, the document will only be available electronically and will not be distributed in a printed manual.
